Heat Stroke Awareness Month
As part of Heat Stroke Awareness Month, the Arkansas Athletic Trainers' Association (AATA), Arkansas Activities Association, and the Kendrick Fincher Hydration for Life Foundation (KFHL) are joining forces to protect our student athletes from heat-related injuries. The Kendrick Fincher Hydration for Life organization has generously provided the Arkansas Athletic Trainers' Association (AATA) with funding to support heat illness prevention and treatment efforts across the state.
In an effort to better serve you, your schools, and your communities, we would like to use these funds to improve access to essential equipment such as:
Cold tubs
Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) devices
Titan rapid cooling bags
If you are in need of any of these resources to enhance the care and safety of your athletes, we encourage you to apply for a mini-grant using the link below.
Please note:
Mini-grants will be awarded based on demonstrated need and the availability of funds.
Distribution of items will be at the discretion of the AATA Board, based on prioritization of need and current funding levels.
