Honorary Membership

Honorary Membership may be bestowed upon an individual who has contributed to and/or promoted athletic training in the State of Arkansas.  These individuals could include:  athletic trainers in other states for contributions to the profession, physicians and/or other allied healthcare professionals, NATA office personnel, coaches/athletic directors/administrators, parents, athletes or others who have contributed significantly to the healthcare and welfare of athletes in the State of Arkansas.

 Nomination Requirements

Any Licensed Athletic Trainer in the state of Arkansas in good standing with the AATA and the Arkansas State Board of Athletic Training may nominate an individual deemed worthy of this award (not necessarily an athletic trainer).

Eligibility Requirements

  • Nominee must have contributed significantly to the health, care, and welfare for athletes at a certain institution within Arkansas for a minimum of ten years OR Nominee must have contributed at least ten years to the promotion of the athletic training profession (injury research, personal appearances, speaking engagements, legislative efforts, etc.).

  • Honorary Membership categories:

    • Athletic Trainers in other states for contributions to the profession.

    • Physicians and/or other allied health professionals.

    • NATA office personnel.

    • Coaches, AD’s, administrators, parents, athletes or others who have contributed significantly to the healthcare and welfare of athletes in the State of Arkansas.

 

*Induction as an Honorary Member of NATA or SWATA will NOT constitute automatic induction as an Honorary Member in the AATA.  However, such person, if he/she resides in Arkansas, will be eligible for nomination by any AATA member in good standing.

Selection Process

The Honors and Awards committee will vote and decide on the recipient(s) and inform the President.
